O2 Employment Services is working with a well-established local construction company to find their next Part-Time Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper. This position is based in Redding, CA.

The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background and hands-on QuickBooks experience. This is not an entry-level accounting position. The company is seeking someone who is confident managing day-to-day accounting functions, payroll tax reporting, bookkeeping, and general office administration with minimal supervision.

Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper – Compensation & Schedule
  • $25.00 per hour
  • Part-time opportunity

Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper – Qualifications
  • Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience required
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks required (hands-on professional experience is required)
  • Experience processing payroll and payroll tax reporting required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting coursework or degree is a plus
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated with excellent attendance
Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper – Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the construction industry is a plus
  • Experience with job costing or construction accounting preferred
  • Knowledge of California payroll practices and payroll tax reporting
  • Experience preparing financial reports and assisting with month-end reconciliation
Accounting Assistant / Bookkeeper – Responsibilities
  • Manage daily bookkeeping activities using QuickBooks
  • Process payroll and prepare payroll tax filings accurately and on time
  • Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
  • Prepare reports and assist management with financial information as requested
  • Perform general office administration and administrative support duties
  • Organize and maintain accounting files and company records
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and team members
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling company financial information
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned
