Marine Mechanic
O2 Employment Services is partnering with a reputable company in the Lakehead area to find their next Certified Marine Mechanic. This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance on a variety of marine equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of inboard and outboard systems, marine generators, and aquatic equipment.
Marine Mechanic Compensation:
- $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on experience
- Vision, dental, and medical insurance offered through O2
- Full-time, Monday–Friday
- Overtime may be available during peak boating season
Marine Mechanic Qualifications:
- Marine Mechanic certification required
- 3–5 years of experience working on marine and aquatic equipment required
- Strong knowledge of inboard and outboard engine systems
- Experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining marine generators
- Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, fuel, and cooling systems
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in both indoor and outdoor environments
Marine Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain inboard and outboard engines, marine generators, and other aquatic equipment
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, winterizations, and preventative service
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment
- Install, repair, and replace marine components and accessories
- Complete repairs according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards
- Maintain accurate service records and communicate repair recommendations to customers
- Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Provide exceptional workmanship and customer service on every repair
