O2 Employment Services is working with a reputable local organization to find their next Day Resource Center Director. This position is based in Redding, CA.
 
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in homeless services, social services, or a related field, with the ability to oversee daily operations, manage staff and volunteers, build community partnerships, support safety and compliance, and ensure high-quality service delivery for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Day Resource Center Director Compensation:
  • $72,000 - $82,000 annually, depending on experience

Day Resource Center Director Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, public administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of leadership experience in homeless services, social services, or a related field
  • Strong human resources and team leadership experience required, including coaching, performance management, and staff development
  • Experience managing staff, volunteers, and multi-partner environments
  • Strong understanding of homelessness systems, including Continuum of Care and coordinated entry
  • Experience with HMIS and data quality management preferred
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and program performance
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to remain calm, make sound decisions, and lead effectively under pressure
  • Comfortable working in a high-demand environment serving individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or crisis situations
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have a clean DMV record and be insurable under agency policy
Day Resource Center Director Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Day Resource Center and ensure a safe, structured, and welcoming environment
  • Supervise, support, coach, and hold accountable assigned staff and volunteers
  • Maintain a strong leadership presence within the facility to address issues in real time
  • Develop and maintain workflows that support efficiency, safety, and quality service delivery
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage social service providers operating within the facility
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, service providers, and stakeholders
  • Represent the organization at city, county, state, Continuum of Care, and community meetings as needed
  • Oversee HMIS data quality, Mission Tracker reporting, and program documentation
  • Monitor program performance metrics and adjust operations to improve outcomes
  • Manage the Day Resource Center budget and monitor financial performance
  • Work closely with leadership to ensure alignment and continuity across programs
  • Serve as the primary program lead for risk management within the Day Resource Center
  • Develop, implement, and enforce safety protocols, emergency response procedures, incident reporting, and escalation processes
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, organizational policies, insurance requirements, and contractual obligations
  • Oversee required staff and volunteer trainings, including de-escalation, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, mandated reporting, confidentiality, and workplace safety
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures specific to the Day Resource Center
  • Address performance concerns and policy violations promptly in coordination with Human Resources
