Body Prep Technician
O2 Employment Services is working with a local manufacturing company to find their next Body Prep Technician. This is a great opportunity for someone with automotive body preparation, fabrication, manufacturing, or hands-on mechanical experience who enjoys detailed work and takes pride in producing a high-quality finished product.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for preparing vehicle bodies and surfaces for production, paint, welding, or additional fabrication work.
Body Prep Technician Compensation
- The pay range for this position is $23.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Employees with welding certifications may be eligible for an additional $1.00 per hour. Employees who use their own tools may also be eligible for an additional $1.00 per hour.
- This is a full-time position working a 4/10 schedule, Monday through Thursday.
Body Prep Technician Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle bodies, surfaces, and components for production, painting, welding, or installation work.
- Sand, grind, clean, and prep surfaces according to company standards.
- Inspect parts and body surfaces for imperfections, damage, or areas needing additional preparation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, sanders, and other shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with fabrication, assembly, and production support as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all safety procedures, production standards, and quality control expectations.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
Body Prep Technician Qualifications
- Previous automotive body prep, auto body, manufacturing, fabrication, welding, or related hands-on experience preferred.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, sanders, grinders, and shop equipment.
- Welding certifications are a plus.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to identify surface imperfections or quality concerns.
- Must be dependable and able to work a consistent Monday through Thursday, 4/10 schedule.
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
- Must be safety-minded and able to follow instructions and production standards.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
