O2 Employment Services is working with a local manufacturing company that serves clients nationwide and internationally. Known for producing high-quality precision instruments and components, they are seeking a Production Assembly Technician to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills.
This role is responsible for assembling precision instruments and sub-assemblies to meet daily production schedules. Candidates may be considered at an entry or experienced level depending on skills and background. The position requires the ability to work from schematics, follow engineering drawings, and perform both mechanical and basic electrical assembly work.
Production Assembly Technician Compensation & Benefits
- $16.52 – $23.74 per hour, DOE
- Temporary-to-hire; initial 90 days through O2 Employment Services, with potential for regular full-time hire
- Once hired directly: medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance; 401(k) with company match; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (hours may vary based on business needs)
- Type: Full-time, temporary-to-hire
Production Assembly Technician Requirements
- High school diploma required; related technical training or coursework preferred
- Entry level: minimum 1 year of experience in equipment or component assembly
- Experienced level: 2–3 years in equipment, instrument, or electronics assembly
- Skilled in using a variety of hand, power, and electrical tools
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and engineering drawings
- Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (microscopes, calipers, micrometers, voltmeters, etc.)
- PCB assembly and soldering experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical components (resistors, capacitors, ICs, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to sit for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 30 lbs occasionally
Production Assembly Technician Responsibilities
- Follow job-specific work instructions, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Assemble and test precision instruments, sub-assemblies, and small tools
- Inspect and verify completed work meets quality standards
- Maintain and identify needed repairs or replacements for tools and fixtures
- Recommend process improvements and new equipment when appropriate
- Follow all safety standards for mechanical and electrical assembly
- Label products, assemble manuals, and perform quality checks on peer work
- Practice safe work methods and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Perform other duties as assigned
